Description

If you’ve got a thing for matching games or just want to wind down after a long stretch at work, Candy Balls might be what you’re looking for. The game’s premise is straightforward—there’s no complicated setup. You’re rolling these bright, almost sugary-looking spheres around in shifting 3D levels, trying to group them or line them up. Sometimes it feels almost meditative. There’s not a big rush; the timer never really looms like it does in some puzzle games, which I found surprisingly comforting. The controls are simple (almost too simple at times), just swiping or dragging to send the balls along tracks that twist in unexpected ways. Occasionally the path layouts caught me off guard, which kept things from getting dull. Visually, well—it leans heavily into candy colors and soft shapes. It looks fresh without being overwhelming to the eyes. I’m not sure everyone will find this as relaxing as I did—if you prefer your puzzlers ultra-challenging or full of narrative, you might drift off here. But there’s a real ease to playing several levels in one go without even thinking about it much. It’s interesting how small design choices can make something feel approachable without dumbing it down.

Honestly? I started Candy Balls expecting another mindless swipe-and-match game but I was wrong—or at least partly so. At first it felt soothing with its pastel graphics and soft music floating along in the background. As more complex layouts showed up though, frustration snuck in—the balls sometimes bounced differently than I thought they would and my strategy fell apart more than once. Still, there’s something oddly satisfying about clearing a cluster you’ve been working on for five minutes straight. I did wish for a bit more variety between levels after an hour or so; things blur together slightly if you play nonstop. But if all you need is a gentle break with some color and low-stress puzzle solving? Well, this definitely delivers.
